How does one explore one's talents?
Once you have figured out what your talents are and feel comfortable with them, it's time to expand.
If you only stick with what you are comfortable with, you will never grow and learn how to use your talents to their fullest. This is why you need to be constantly expanding and exploring new territory. One can think of this as similar to how a tree constantly grows to absorb more nutrients and sunlight. By searching for other aspects of your talents, you are guaranteed to find all of your potential. An example of this is someone who is skilled in sketching. What about other kinds of art? Why not try sculpting those sketches instead of only drawing them in two dimensions? How about animation? Those sketches can turn into something much bigger if one expands on them and tries new things based on skills already developed. This applies to music as well. If you are talented at playing music on one instrument, why not try others? In addition to playing more and more challenging pieces, why not try writing some yourself? You can become a great musician if you only put in the effort and push your gift to its fullest. And speaking of writing... There's another example that can be used. Someone who is talented at writing fantasy short stories and developing characters and plot can take this further by writing more and more complex stories. These stories can have more advanced plot. This writer can also try his or her hand at multiple genres, like science fiction, action, mystery, horror, etc. While you are exploring your talents and following them where they are leading you, think about how you can use your talents to benefit your life and the lives of others. Your talents should not be wasted! What can you do with your talents to benefit society? You might use them to spread ideas, entertain others, discover new things or create new inventions. It is all up to how you use your talents. |
